What is the Accuro app?
The Accuro app is a dictation, ambient voice, and transcription submission tool that connects directly to the Accuro portal. It enables you to record or upload audio and submit it for transcription – human completed, AI generated, or a combination – all within our app.
Who is the app for?
It’s designed for clinicians, healthcare professionals, secretaries, and anyone who needs accurate documentation quickly. It’s easy to dictate conversations, then make edits to the recording, and submit the audio for whatever service you choose. You can also upload a recording via a link.
Uploading and submitting work
How do I submit a file?
To begin dictation, tap the red record button – you will see a prompt that confirms the patient has given permission to be recorded. When you complete the dictation you can make changes, including Append, Insert, Replace, and Cut. When you are ready to submit, tap Send to Accuro – you can then select the service and submit.
To begin an upload, choose the upload button on the left to upload a file from your device, or tap the link button on the right to paste a shareable URL and submit the file for transcription. That’s it; the job goes into the Accuro workflow automatically.
What can I upload?
You can upload files directly from your device or provide a shareable URL to the file.
Transcription options
What transcription options can I choose from?
Three: 100% human transcription, 100% AI transcription, or a hybrid option where AI transcribes and a human performs quality assurance. You choose per job, so you can match the option to how sensitive or complex the content is.
Which option should I choose?
As a rough guide: 100% human for the highest accuracy and complex or sensitive content; 100% AI for the fastest turnaround; and hybrid when you want AI speed with a human accuracy check.
Privacy and security
How do we keep your data secure?
We take data security extremely seriously. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. Our systems are ISO 27001 certified, and we comply with GDPR regulations.
Managing your files
What happens after I submit?
Once transcription is submitted, you can mark the file as urgent, or amend it to resend. On the home screen of the app you will see all of your files, with a colour code that highlights whether the file is in progress, marked as urgent, or complete.
What can I do with the finished document?
Once your transcription is complete, you can download it to your device.
Ambient Voice Technology
What is ambient voice technology?
On the mobile app you can capture audio in the moment using ambient voice recording, so your conversation can be transcribed quickly.
Will people know they’re being recorded?
Yes – where appropriate, the app shows a consent prompt before recording, so consent can be captured properly.

Your recordings are transcribed by our team of UK-based professional transcribers. Each transcriber is carefully vetted, trained, and specialises in specific sectors such as medical, legal, or media.
How accurate is your transcription service?
Our Human Transcription service delivers 99.9% accuracy, while Hybrid Transcription achieves 99% accuracy. AI Speech Recognition typically delivers 60-80% accuracy depending on audio quality.
How accurate is speech recognition?
Our AI speech recognition typically achieves 60-80% accuracy for clear audio with single speakers. Accuracy varies based on audio quality, background noise, and accents.
Is your service pay-as-you-go?
Yes, our service is completely pay-as-you-go with no subscription required. You only pay for what you use, charged per audio minute. We also offer volume discounts for larger projects.
Are all your transcribers in the UK?
Yes, 100% of our transcribers are based in the UK. This ensures familiarity with UK terminology, accents, and professional standards.
How do I sign up to transcribe for you?
Visit our Careers page and complete the application form. You'll need to pass our assessment process, which includes a typing test and sample transcription.
What format is my work transcribed onto?
We deliver transcripts in multiple formats including Word (.docx), PDF, plain text, and more. We can also use your own templates and letterheads.
What is medical transcription?
Medical transcription involves converting voice-recorded medical reports into text documents. This includes clinic letters, discharge summaries, and medical notes.
Can you type into a case management system?
