Clinton Neale, the newly appointed Assistant General Manager for Gloucester NHS Trust, required a solution for clinical correspondence backlogs within the Cardiology Department.
Underfunding and staff turnover had contributed to poor operational compliance and an alternative solution was required to solve a growing problem with the throughput of clinical correspondence.
Accuro were identified following consultation with Crescendo, the Trusts current dictation workflow provider, as being a technical partner and was helping numerous other Trusts with specific backlog issues.
Matthew Harrison added “We identified a solution that required no change in the Trust’s operational processes (most importantly doctors’ behaviour) and a ‘plug and go’ service allowing older dictations to be transferred within days. The fact is, Accuro are entirely UK-based, ISO:27001 accredited and already eradicating backlogs in other Trusts”.
Accuro completed a trial of 50 dictations which allowed the Trust to gauge the quality and speed of the transcription service.
After the successful pilot, Accuro and Gloucester Trust were able to increase to large volumes of dictation backlogs in a planned phased approach to support internal operations.
