Zoom transcription and Microsoft Teams transcription

Covid-19 has changed the way people work, possibly permanently.  Platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet have been rapidly deployed to facilitate remote meetings between both employees and customers.  In general it has been an overwhelming success, with the Office for National Statistics predicting that 50% of the UK’s working population will be working remotely by the end of 2021

The challenge comes when there is a need to record and document a meeting. Typically before Covid this would have involved minute taking, or an internal member of admin staff would be required to transcribe video to text. Popular meeting platform Zoom does have an in-built transcription solution which uses artificial intelligence to generate a transcript of the conversation. The accuracy of this transcript will vary however, based on audio quality, participants talking over each other, accents and background noise (and with home-schooling – you may get a bit of that!).  Accuro’s UK transcription service will provide you with an accurate record of your meeting, in your house style, either using verbatim or intelligent verbatim to ensure everything you need is captured properly.  If you are recording a meeting to be published on your social media or website we can also provide subtitles to the video to help you reach a wider audience click here on how to add subtitles to video.

ACAS guidance states that redundancy, grievance and disciplinary meetings are not legally obliged to be taken face to face and can be completed remotely.

However, their code of practice for hearings has not changed and accurate documentation still needs to be kept. Relying on automatic speech recognition to accurately document an important meeting is a gamble and may cost your business in the long run. Accuro’s team of professional multi-voice transcribers have utilised their experience of documenting audio and video transcription for crucial meetings and adapted quickly to add Zoom Transcription to their expertise.

Throughout the pandemic, Accuro has worked closely with customers to make the process of recording and accurately transcribing a Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting as simple as possible.

We have created a simple guide on how to get started with Zoom or Microsoft Teams transcription:
